Subject: Re: Should I see special characters in status updates?

Thank you Magnum and Claudio!

I tried the commands you shared, but none of them worked.

When I tried (exactly as I've typed it below):

*john --incremental:ascii --stdout | grep '#'john -stdout -inc:ascii | head*

*john -stdout -inc:ascii | grep -nm1 '[a-z]'*

I got the responses:

*'grep' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable
program or batch file*
*'head' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable
program or batch file*
*'grep' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable
program or batch file*

When I tried:

*john --incremental:ascii --stdout #*
*john -stdout -inc:ascii #*

I got the response:

*Password files specified, but not option would use them *(for both
commands)

I'm running John on a Windows machine. Could that be the problem?

I tried these commands in a new command prompt window while John was
running on the RAR file. Could that be the problem?

Thanks again!
