+1 on OS X Leopard.  I have several PPC boxes that I continue to use.

+1, I'm not disagreeing with your linux/bsd comment.

Also note, most Solaris based distro's, plus current Solaris 11.x from oracle 
also ship with both QT and GTK libraries.

I'm not necessarily trying to sway anyone's decision, but hopefully to keep kept 
in the thoughts for the full breath of potential end users.
