It is supported via PAM.  There're PAM modules which authenticate via
LDAP.  Alternatively, if you want to use LDAP _and_ virtual domains,
there's an unofficial patch which is trivial to find with Google (it's
one of the first 10 hits when you search for "popa3d openldap").  I do
not find its quality adequate for inclusion in popa3d's contrib
directory, though.

But I strongly recommend against using an LDAP server directly from a
POP3 server.  This will most definitely make the resulting setup less
reliable and, with existing LDAP-related software, also less secure.

Most likely, you do not have a good enough reason to do things in this
way.  Please re-consider.
