As you can see, it says "Will run 8 OpenMP threads" in both cases. I
think what you mean to use in OMP_NUM_THREADS=2

OMP_SCALE is a macro, not an environment variable. For some time it had
a use as an environment variable too (used for tuning) but it was never
used like you do above.
