For what it's worth, I have stopped waiting for Solar long ago. I
usually give him veto power for intrusive core changes and hope for good
ideas, and when he doesn't speak I regard it a silent blessing.
I think your suggestion looked great. It will be very powerful and
there's virtually no overhead when not used.
