The same problem exists if you start john without any options.
Not even the official john (tested with john-1.7.8 which is distributed
with fedora 16) works when you have an invalid config.

I had a john.conf file in ~/.john which used include directives (not
known to official john), and instead of the usage output, I got:

$ john
Error in /home/fd/.john/john.conf at line 388

Can/should this be fixed for the jumbo version and for the official version?
Invalid contents in the john.conf file shouldn't matter for usage output.

BTW: line 388 is
 .include [Incremental:All]
in the [Incremental:All15] section.
