Subject: RE: Premature disconnects with Outlook

	Good morning, Alexander.

We are using the fully patched Outlook 2002 (10.4712.4219) SP-2, and
Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1123. In the process of trying to identify the
source of the problem, though, we tried using different programs to rule out
a client bug, especially since we use Outlook. :-)

popa3d is running on a fully patched Red Hat Linux 7.3 with kernel
2.4.20-20.7.

The network topology involved is pretty straightforward: a 100
Ethernet LAN with a vanilla switch and a direct connection from the server
to the workstations. No NAT involved.

As far as Norton Antivirus goes, disabling it does solve the
problem. However:

a) Using other clients such as Eudora with Norton Antivirus enabled works
fine.
b) Using Outlook and Outlook Express with other external pop daemons with
Norton Antivirus enabled works fine.
c) Disabling Norton Antivirus is not really a choice for us, for security
reasons.

After gathering these facts, it seems to be a problem with the
specific combination: Outlook + Norton Antivirus + popa3d.

I hope that helps in describing our problem.

	Thanks for the quick response.
