Well, the reason why I am setting Owl as my desktop is that some day I
would like to get involved in Owl development, so the more I am familiar
with all aspects of using Owl, the better :-) 

Could you explain what kind of troubles may arise from Openwall's
hardening policy, if used on the desktop?
