If `shutil.unpack_archive()` is given a ZIP archive with an absolute Windows path containing a drive (`C:\\...`) then the archive will be extracted outside the target directory which is different than other operating systems. Only Windows is affected by this vulnerability. Please see the linked CVE ID for the latest information on affected versions: * https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-3087 * https://github.com/python/cpython/pull/146591 _______________________________________________ Security-announce mailing list -- security-announce@...hon.org To unsubscribe send an email to security-announce-leave@...hon.org https://mail.python.org/mailman3//lists/security-announce.python.org
