Great, but replying to list questions off-list is anything but helpful 
to the rest of us. That version does not utilize SSE2 so it's slower. 
Here's 1.7.9-jumbo-5:
Benchmarking: sha512crypt (rounds=5000) [64/64]... DONE
Raw:	298 c/s real, 295 c/s virtual

And here's bleeding Jumbo:
Benchmarking: sha512crypt, crypt(3) $6$ (rounds=5000) [SHA512 64/64 
OpenSSL]... (8xOMP) DONE
Raw:	1674 c/s real, 218 c/s virtual
