Subject: crack firefox password?

Like a dummy I forgot my Firefox master password.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and have installed John the Ripper password
cracker, version 1.7.8

How do I crack/get the password?

I think the master password is found in the file key3.db

I'm not too tech-savy so please explain what syntax I should use.
