Hi
I did a test with JTR below Vs my JTR (*) I get :
(*)john-1.7.6 SSE2 FullMPI version 8 + jumbo patch 9
NOTE: in this test I do not use "mpirun -np x"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JTR BELOW
---------------
iMac-de-xxx-xx:run xxxxx$ ./john 2millions.txt -format=raw-md5 -i:all
Using raw-md5 mode, by linking to md5_gen(0) functions
Loaded 1821691 password hashes with 196 different salts (Raw MD5 [gen])
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
marc (2millions)
(.... plaintext list removed, mail shorter)
war (2millions)
guesses: 18 time: 0:00:00:02 c/s: 242196M trying: borily - bena13
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My version of JTR (latest version, compiled by myself), returns :
----------------
iMac-de-xxx-xx:run xxxxx$ ./john 2millions.txt -format=raw-md5 -i:all
Loaded 1821739 password hashes with no different salts (Raw MD5
[raw-md5 SSE2 16x4])
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
dog (2millions)
(.... plaintext list removed, mail shorter)
= (2millions)
thread: 0 guesses: 150 time: 0:00:00:01 c/s: 6615G trying: (~ - 11oy
Why so much difference ? :
- guesses: 18 time: 0:00:00:02 Vs thread: 0 guesses: 150 time:
0:00:00:01
- c/s: 242196M Vs c/s: 6615G
Thanks.
