john-users - error with new charset

Subject: error with new charset

I have generated a new charset with é, è, à, etc... from this 
explanaition http://www.openwall.com/lists/john-users/2008/03/17/1

after recompiling,

Macintosh:run xxxxxx$ ./john -format=raw-md5 -i:alpha test.txt  works 
fine

but with charset all.chr I get :

Macintosh:run xxxxxx$ ./john -format=raw-md5 -i:all test.txt
Loaded 1 password hash (Raw MD5 [raw-md5])
Incompatible charset file: $JOHN/all.chr
[0] Terminating on error.

 could you help ?
