It would seem all three of these changes focus on making the
disk/memory tradeoff; although I like tweakable handles as much as the
next JtR user, did you consider combining them into a single option to
reduce namespace pollution and just #define sane values?  You've seen
how crowded src/john.c and src/options.c get with the jumbo patches,
and I'm just thinking the less we who make patches intrude on those
spaces the better our patches will get along.
