Lots of good information in your response, thanks.  I'm glad i asked this
list my questions.  searched online but it was difficult to find all this
information.  of course John will tell you how may users their by the number
of accounts it tries to crack, but having an awk script to verify that makes
me feel better.  that way i'm not missing any hashes.  by the way looks like
your awk script might be the ticket.  once again thanks for all your help,
would be lost without it.
