Subject: number of characters

I'm running some DES hashes, which, when decrypted
only show the first 8 characters of the password. I
understand that anything else after that is of no need
when logging in, but is there any way to find out what
they all are?

For example, HIiu0vRPe5zNc becomes cheesehe -- is
there any way to find out the rest of the characters?
