My preliminary resultson windows x32:
official "vanilla" 1.7.0.1 (win32-cygwin-x86-mmx)
Benchmarking: Traditional DES [64/64 BS MMX]... DONE
Many salts: 1067K c/s
Only one salt: 990499 c/s
Benchmarking: BSDI DES (x725) [64/64 BS MMX]... DONE
Many salts: 35837 c/s
Only one salt: 35464 c/s
Benchmarking: FreeBSD MD5 [32/32]... DONE
Raw: 8354 c/s
Benchmarking: OpenBSD Blowfish (x32) [32/32]... DONE
Raw: 422 c/s
Benchmarking: Kerberos AFS DES [48/64 4K MMX]... DONE
Short: 203913 c/s
Long: 727375 c/s
Benchmarking: NT LM DES [64/64 BS MMX]... DONE
Raw: 8471K c/s
New "vanilla" 1.7.1 (win32-cygwin-x86-sse2):
Benchmarking: Traditional DES [128/128 BS SSE2]... DONE
Many salts: 1328K c/s
Only one salt: 1179K c/s
Benchmarking: BSDI DES (x725) [128/128 BS SSE2]... DONE
Many salts: 44484 c/s
Only one salt: 43222 c/s
Benchmarking: FreeBSD MD5 [32/32]... DONE
Raw: 8305 c/s
Benchmarking: OpenBSD Blowfish (x32) [32/32]... DONE
Raw: 494 c/s
Benchmarking: Kerberos AFS DES [48/64 4K MMX]... DONE
Short: 204550 c/s
Long: 727375 c/s
Benchmarking: NT LM DES [128/128 BS SSE2]... DONE
Raw: 8521K c/s
So a 24% increase on DES "many salts" and 17% increase on DES "one salt".
22-24% increase on BSDI DES.
Pretty good stuff, but I'm gonna install linux in VMWare to try the pure
64 bit version and see what it gives me...
