Lonnie's posting was inappropriate for two reasons:

1. The question is on FAQ. The FAQ for John the Ripper can be found at:

	http://www.openwall.com/john/doc/FAQ.shtml

If anyone else on this mailing list has a similar question, now is the
time to check out the FAQ. :-)

2. The message Subject remained from a preceding discussion. Whenever
you post something on a new topic, please do change the Subject
accordingly. (In fact, it is preferable to start writing your message
anew rather than "reply" to someone else's message on another topic.
The latter results in improper threading with sufficiently capable
software, such as on Gmane's web-based archives of this list.)

Another thing I wanted to mention, especially to those posting via
Gmane: please wrap your lines at a reasonable length, say 72 characters,
such that they can be quoted a few times and still fit on an
80-character wide (pseudo-)terminal without getting wrapped for a second
time. Or don't wrap them at all. Just do not wrap them at a length too
close to or beyond 80 characters.

Meanwhile, there are currently 330 subscribers to this mailing list.
The total number of distinct e-mail addresses ever subscribed is 435.
