Subject: Linux 2.2.23-ow1, OpenVMS and SYSUAF.DAT support for John the Ripper

Hi,

This is not really news, but Linux 2.2.23-ow1 is out:

	http://www.openwall.com/linux/

This time this is merely an update to Linux 2.2.23 and is effectively
the same as 2.2.22-ow2. Some more bits went in and thus were dropped
from the patch.

Now to something more exciting. It is now possible to run John the
Ripper on OpenVMS (both Alpha and VAX) targeting any of the supported
hash types, and to crack OpenVMS passwords (SYSUAF.DAT) when running
on any of the supported platforms, due to patches and VMS executables
contributed by Jean-loup Gailly. I've added links to the "contributed
resources" list on:

	http://www.openwall.com/john/

There're also local copies of all this VMS stuff available for FTP:

	ftp://ftp.openwall.com/pub/projects/john/contrib/vms/
